# Behalf.bot Managed Install - Terms of Service **Version: v1-2026-06-01** ## 1. What you're buying You're purchasing a single Managed Install of the Behalf.bot chassis on a host you own or control. We (the Behalf.bot maintainer) drive the chassis bootstrap, fire the first heartbeat, and verify the install passes its smoke tests. Delivery is over SSH; total time-on-the-clock typically 60-120 minutes once your accounts are provisioned. The €250 one-time fee covers the install itself. It does NOT include ongoing operations, third-party API costs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Stripe, etc.), or recurring software costs. You pay for those directly with your own accounts. ## 2. Bleeding-edge software disclaimer Behalf.bot is open-source software under active development. The chassis we install on your behalf is the current state of the public repo at https://github.com/scrollinondubs/behalfbot. By purchasing the Managed Install you acknowledge that: - The software is provided **as-is** with no warranty of any kind. - Bugs exist. Some are known, many are not. You accept the risk of running pre-1.0 software. - The chassis interacts with sensitive systems on your behalf (email, calendar, Discord, GitHub, your second-brain). Misconfiguration can cause data loss, accidental sends, or unintended actions. - We make every effort to install it securely and according to documented best practices, but we cannot guarantee defect-free operation. ## 3. Network exposure requirement You agree to run Behalf.bot **only on a private network**. This means one of: - A home or office network behind NAT, not directly internet-routable - A Tailscale, WireGuard, or other overlay network where only invited members can reach the host - A VPN-gated VPS (if cloud-hosted) **You will NOT expose the Behalf.bot chassis or any of its services to the public internet** (no port-forwarding, no public DNS pointing at it, no Cloudflare Tunnel without authentication, no public-readable webhooks). Doing so creates a credential-leak attack surface that the chassis is not hardened against. If we observe that your install has been exposed to the public internet, we reserve the right to require remediation as a condition of any further support, and to refuse to perform further installs or maintenance work for you. ## 4. Indemnification You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Behalf.bot maintainer (Sean Tierney and any affiliated agents or assistants) from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: - Your use or misuse of the Behalf.bot chassis or any code we install on your behalf - Any actions taken by the agent on your behalf, including but not limited to email sends, calendar invites, GitHub commits, financial transactions, or third-party API calls - Any unauthorized access, data breach, or security incident affecting your install, regardless of cause - Any violation by you of these Terms or of applicable law - Any claim brought by a third party (an attendee, recipient, vendor, employer, etc.) arising from the agent's actions on your behalf This indemnification applies whether the claim arises in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, and survives termination of this agreement. ## 5. Limitation of liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: - The Behalf.bot maintainer's total cumulative liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or related to the Managed Install, the chassis, or these Terms is **limited to the amount you paid for the install** (€250). - The maintainer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages of any kind, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. - The maintainer makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the chassis, its fitness for any particular purpose, its merchantability, or its security properties. ## 6. Your responsibilities You agree that: - You own or have full authorization to configure the host on which Behalf.bot is installed. - You have or will create dedicated agent-side accounts (separate from your personal accounts) for any third-party service the agent interacts with. The dual-identity pattern is documented at https://github.com/scrollinondubs/behalfbot/blob/main/docs/architectural-anti-patterns.md and is a strongly recommended security baseline. - You will not share your install's credentials with third parties. - You will review the agent's outputs before treating them as authoritative (e.g. draft emails are drafts, not sends, until you review). - You acknowledge the agent operates within a published trust line (configured in your chassis.config.yaml); behavior outside that line is your responsibility to constrain via the hook layer. ## 7. Grandfathered pricing + Cohort 5 credit Early Managed Install purchasers (the first beta cohort) receive grandfathered pricing: the €250 rate is locked in for you for any future Managed Install on the same primary email, even after we raise the price for new customers. If you subsequently apply to and are accepted into Vibecode Lisboa's Build School Cohort 5 (or any cohort), the €250 paid for this install applies as a credit toward your tuition. The credit is non-refundable, non-transferable, and applies only at admission - we will not refund the install fee in cash even if you do not enroll in Cohort 5. ## 8. Refund policy Because the Managed Install involves time-sensitive human labor delivered over SSH, refunds are limited: - **Before scheduling:** if you have not yet proposed install times via the post-purchase scheduling form, full refund within 14 days. - **After scheduling, before install:** 50% refund up to 24 hours before the scheduled slot. No refund after that. - **After install:** no refund. The work is completed and delivered. If post-install the chassis does not function as documented, we will work with you in good faith to resolve - but refunds are not part of that remedy. ## 9. Discord beta-community access As part of the early Managed Install cohort you receive access to a private Discord channel for ongoing Q&A with the maintainer and other beta installers. Access is a courtesy, not a guarantee of support response times. We expect respectful engagement; abusive behavior will result in access revocation without refund. ## 10. Changes to these Terms We may update these Terms periodically. The version you agreed to at purchase (stamped on your install_purchases row) governs your install. Future updates only apply to new purchases unless you affirmatively agree to a new version. ## 11. Governing law + dispute resolution These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms will be resolved by the courts of Lisbon, Portugal, unless both parties agree in writing to alternative resolution (mediation, arbitration, etc.). ## 12. Severability If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. --- By checking the acceptance box at checkout, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
